Aroha Island is a natural haven with a wide diversity of New Zealand flora and fauna. If you love nature and have a desire to explore the unique plants and birds of New Zealand, you will enjoy the tours and courses on offer. Prior booking is essential.

Learn how to give a wonderful, relaxing massage. Aroha means “loving care for your family and the environment.” Over four weeks you will learn the basics of relaxation techniques, anatomy, massage oils, precautions, keeping yourself and your massage partner comfortable and much more. We will focus on back, neck and shoulder massage, but if time permits we will add head and feet. If you would like to give the gift of massage, or are thinking of becoming a massage therapist, this casual and fun course is for you.
The Sunday afternoon workshops are on Aroha Island. Instruction starts at 1pm, but come early (12:30pm) to get a nice hot Aroha soup for lunch (included in the price).
The course runs for four weeks in a row and the cost is $35/week ($140 for full course) 35% of the money will go to Aroha Island for the protection of the kiwi and the environment.
The class is limited to eight persons, but if we get more than eight we will run a second workshop starting at 3:30pm on Sundays. Your instructor will be Lynn Bamford, a certified massage therapist with ten years experience.

Registration and payment can be done through our website on “give a little”. You will receive your e-mail receipt straight away, which you will need to present when starting the course.
The course has an option of a one-hour-personalized-shampoo-making-workshop, which is $18, and you get to take home your shampoo made from organic substances. The shampoo workshop will begin at 3pm on Sundays - directly after massage.
These courses will be offered continually throughout the spring. So, if you are unable to make these dates, please check back again.
Cancellation policy: If you can’t make it on one of the Sundays, we can give you a rain cheque so that you can make up that segment within another course later on.
