IMPORTANT COVID-19 POLICY UPDATE FOR AROHA ISLAND

This policy remains in place under the NZ Traffic Light system.
The Aroha Island staff are committed to the safety of all our guests, team, and visitors. We are committed to working with you to make any adjustments to your reservations, guided by the NZ Government Covid-19 Protection Framework. Our standard Terms and Conditions apply, except for the following changes:

The team is 100% committed to maintaining the highest standards of service, hygiene and protection as required by the NZ Government Covid-19 Protection Framework. The team greatly appreciates your patience and compliance as we all adjust to the new operational requirements to keep each other safe.
COVID-19 VACCINATION CERTIFICATES ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL GUESTS & DAY VISITORS 12 YEARS +
FROM 15th DECEMBER 2021
NO VACCINATION CERTIFICATE = NO STAY/NO VISIT
As per NZ Govt advice and after undertaking a site risk assessment, Aroha Island Eco Centre & Holiday Accommodation will operate a no vaccination certificate = no stay policy for all guests, their visitors & all Day Visitors aged 12 years and over. This includes all event guests.
The Reservation Holder is responsible to ensure the entire group in the booking is fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and can provide the NZ Government Approved Vaccination Certificate prior to their stay. *
Children under the age of 12 at the time of their visit will not be required to show proof of vaccination.
Medical Exemption. If you are unable to get a vaccination for medical reasons, we ask where possible for you to show a negative test result gained within 48 hours of your arrival. You will also be required to show proof of your exemption.
Your honesty and co-operation will ensure that we can make the most of summer at Aroha Island & in Northland in general. This policy will be strictly enforced so please do not ask for exceptions.
*We acknowledge that not everyone wishes to be vaccinated against Covid-19. However, in order to operate as safely as possible, Aroha Island is following NZ Government and Ministry Of Health advice. From 15th December 2021 until such time that the NZ Government lifts the vaccination restrictions for hospitality providers, and under the NZ Traffic Light System, you will not be able to stay in our accommodation or campground or attend an event, like a wedding, at Aroha Island if you cannot, prior to your arrival, supply us with your vaccine certificate or proof of a negative Covid-19 test result gained within 48 hours of your arrival or proof of your medical exemption.
If you cannot comply with the above you will not be able to access Aroha Island. No refunds will be given if there is a failure to comply.
7-14 Days Prior to Arrival | Please look out for an email from us with details for your stay:
- Upload the NZ Government Approved Vaccination Certificate for all eligible guests 12 years +
- Provide full names of all guests and ages
- Provide vehicle registration numbers
- Details for your contactless check-in on arrival
H & S protocols during your stay/visit
Please scan in and wear a face mask when checking in on arrival. PayWave is available in our office in the Eco Centre. You may be requested by a member of the Aroha Island team to verify your certificate when visiting the Eco Centre during your stay. Mask wearing and physical distancing will be required in communal areas like the Eco Centre & camp kitchen and hand-sanitiser will be provided. Shared crockery and cutlery will not be available in the camp kitchen. There will be a heightened cleaning regime by our staff throughout the busy holiday period in both the Kiwi Holiday Home and campground ablutions block. If you experience cold or flu-like symptoms during your stay please inform us immediately by phoning 09 407 5243 or 0274075243 and we will tell you what to do.
